In an attempt to stretch the success of Ultima VII a little further Origin released the 'Forge of Virtue', an Add-on scenario for the 'Black Gate'. Once installed, the player could follow a couple of additional quests to raise stats beyond the normal cap and to create a very formidable weapon in the end. The 'Forge of Virtue' came in a small box that only contained a single disk and an instructions page. Later European editions were already distributed by Electronic Arts and contained an additional notice explaining the change and a slightly different disk.
