Ultima Online 'Kingdom Reborn' was a major update of the client side graphics engine and game interface. It was designed by EA Mythic (formerly Mythic Entertainment) and was offered as a free download from the developers website. The Japanese edition however was also available as a mail order DVD-ROM with a free 7 day trial subscription as well as a special Starter Kit edition complete with a 45 days game time bonus. The Starter Kit edition is a standard DVD case that contains the DVD with the client software as well as a special gametime code to enable 45 days of free playing in addition to the 7 days free trial.
